Rental Service Technician / Yard Person (FT/PT)

The Rental House is Leduc's source for quality equipment rentals, sales and service. We are currently seeking an energetic individual for our rental service department. If you love working with people and working with equipment equally, this job may be for you! We can promise every day will be different than the last, fast paced and you will learn on the job every day. Saturdays are a required work day for this position, you will be scheduled a mid-week day off as well as Sundays and holidays. If working Saturdays is an issue, you need not apply. We are a small company with a very tight knit group of people, we will be hiring based on attitude and proper fit above all else.

Duties would include:
• Loading and unloading of rental equipment.
• Demonstration of safe and proper use for a variety of types of equipment.
• Assist in safe securement of loads in accordance with regulations.
• Cleaning and maintenance of equipment upon rental return.
• Maintain a clean and tidy work area, cleaning and facility maintenance as required.
• Other duties as requested by your supervisors.

Education, Skills and Required Abilities:
• A High School Diploma is preferred but not required, previous experience operating and maintaining light construction and lawn and garden equipment is an asset.
• Class 5 Drivers license and a reliable form of transportation to and from work.
• Must be able to stand and work outdoors in a variety of conditions for long periods.
• Must be physically fit and able to lift up to 70lbs repeatedly throughout the day.
• Must be an effective verbal communicator; this is a customer facing role.
• Must be polite, courteous and respectful; you are expected to reflect the highest level of professionalism in your role day in and day out.
• Must be flexible; every day brings about new challenges and new tasks.
• Must be dependable and reliable, your co-workers are depending on you to show up and put in a good hard days’ work!

Local candidates are preferred. This position is excellent for young people with a good mechanical aptitude, and more importantly a great and positive attitude!

This position is expected to have an anticipated start date in the first week of April.

Wages will be commensurate with your experience.

Inside Sales and Rentals – Customer Service (FT/PT)

Required education, skills and abilities:

• A high school diploma is required, post-secondary education is considered an asset but not required.
• Must be able to lift approximately 50 lbs.
• Must maintain a professional personal appearance.
• Must have good customer service skills.
• Must be comfortable working with computers and order writing.
• Must have excellent written and oral communication skills, must be able to clearly present and explain products and their applications.
• Must be able to learn new products, features and applications.
• Must maintain a flawless attendance record.
• Maintain a cooperative working relationship with co-workers, we are a small group and your co-workers will be depending on you.
• Must enjoy working in a fast paced, customer service and retail environment.
• Must be comfortable standing and working on your feet for an entire 8 hour shift.

Job Duties:
• Provides fast and friendly service for rentals and sales customers; writing invoices and rental contracts, quoting and reserving of rental and sales equipment
• Maintains daily contract file, calling overdue rental contracts and ensuring accurate scheduling of equipment
• Explains rental fees and provides information about rented items, such as operation or description.
• Answers telephone and receives orders by phone.
• Recommends items to customers that meet their needs.
• Cleans showroom and equipment. Arranges showroom displays. Keeps shelves organized, stocked and clean.
• Inventories retail sales merchandise and advises supervisor of low levels of merchandise.
• Assists customer with the loading and unloading of equipment when necessary. May also need to demonstrate safety features and operational features of the equipment.
• Report safety violations to supervisor.
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures, rules and regulations in written or verbal form.
• Comply with government safety requirements and other regulations and security in store.
• Attend department, store and safety meetings.
• Perform other duties as requested.
