Counter Sales Assistant / Counter Personnel

The Rental House is currently looking for a Full Time Counter Sales Assistant. This is an entry-level position, The Rental House is willing to train the right candidate regardless of experience level. All applicants will be considered but only selected candidates will be contacted.

The ideal applicant should have:

1. A high school diploma.
2. Must be able to lift approximately 50 lbs.
3. Must maintain a professional personal appearance.
4. Must possess sales and customer relation skills.
5. Must be able to use mathematics to solve problems.
6. Must speak English clearly and write legibly. Ability to speak another language is a plus.
7. Must maintain an acceptable attendance record.
8. Must be able to provide, understand and complete instructions furnished in written, oral or scheduled form.
9. Maintain a cooperative working relationship with co-workers.
10. Must be able to maintain a high degree of patience.

Job Duties:

1. Rents equipment or arranges for provision of service to customer.
2. Prepares rental forms and contracts, obtains customer signature and other information as required.
3. Maintains daily contract file.
4. Computes charges based on rental or service rate.
5. Explains rental fees and provides information about rented items, such as operation or description.
6. Collects deposit or payment or records credit charges by maintaining customer charge file daily and balancing daily sales receipts.
7. Answers telephone and receives orders by phone.
8. Recommends items to customers that meet their needs.
9. Reserves items for requested time and maintains rental reservation file.
10. Updates/calls overdue list daily and alerts supervisor of overdue contracts.
11. Cleans showroom and equipment. Arranges showroom displays. Keeps shelves organized, stocked and clean. May also clean customer restrooms.
12. Inventories retail sales merchandise and advises supervisor of low levels of merchandise.
13. Assists customer with the loading and unloading of equipment when necessary. May also need to demonstrate safety features and operational features of the equipment.
14. Report safety violations to supervisor.
15. Adhere to all company policies, procedures, rules and regulations in written or verbal form.
16. Comply with government safety requirements and other regulations and security in store.
17. Attend department, store and safety meetings.
18. Perform other duties as requested.

Rental Equipment Service Technician

The Rental House is currently looking for a permanent full-time Rental Equipment Service Technician. This is an entry-level position, The Rental House is willing to train the right candidate regardless of experience level. The Rental House offers competitive wages, quarterly bonuses, profit sharing, and health benefits to all full-time staff. All applicants will be considered but only selected candidates will be contacted.

The ideal applicant should have:

  1. Basic verbal and written skills
  2. Teamwork skills
  3. Customer service skills
  4. Basic knowledge of tools
  5. The ability to grasp basic knowledge of rental cycle
  6. Basic mechanical aptitude
  7. Valid Class 5 drivers license
  8. High School Diploma

Job Duties May Include:

  1. Maintain a clean and safe work area, adhere to all safety procedures
  2. Maintain positive customer relations through professional interactions with customers
  3. Follow standard operating procedures
  4. Clean equipment
  5. Attend formal training
  6. Load and unload equipment while complying with regulations for height, width and weight
  7. Prepare new equipment for rent or sale
  8. Assist with deliveries
  9. Perform maintenance check on rental equipment before and after use for damage, hours used, tires, mileage, fuel levels, safety decals and safety compliance
  10. Perform, in a safe manner, minor repairs of rental equipment and tools, including checking oil, grease, fluids and tagging of equipment for rental-ready status
  11. Communicate with lead technician, counter person and/or service manager for equipment maintenance requirements and repair parts
  12. Provide assistance to all other levels of technicians as needed in regard to troubleshooting repairs
  13. Check out, familiarize and demonstrate equipment for customers

Power Equipment Technician / Small Engine Mechanic

The Rental House is currently looking for a permanent full-time Power Equipment Technician / Small Engine Mechanic. The Rental House is willing to train the right candidate regardless of experience level or qualifications; this position also offers the ability to pursue an apprenticeship as an Outdoor Power Equipment Technician. The Rental House offers competitive wages, quarterly bonuses, profit sharing, and health benefits to all full-time staff.   3. Customer service skills
  4. Basic knowledge of tools

  1. Review and interpret work orders and technical manuals
  2. Inspect engines, motors and other mechanical components and use test devices to diagnose and isolate faults
  3. Adjust, repair or replace mechanical or electrical system parts and components using hand tools and equipment
  4. Test and adjust repaired equipment for proper performance
  5. Perform scheduled maintenance service on equipment
  6. Advise customers on work performed and general condition of equipment
  7. Estimate repair costs.
